Job description

Role Overview

The Lead Planning Engineer is responsible for developing work programs aligned with project guidelines and overseeing project progression to ensure timely completion within budget limits.

Key Duties

  • Create tender programs, clause 14 schedules, and resource histograms, reviewing with the Planning Manager.
  • Act as liaison among clients, suppliers, and contractors to coordinate and monitor deliverables per the project timeline.
  • Assist the project management team in tracking progress, reporting variations alongside the Projects team.
  • Keep precise progress records, revise forecasts as needed, and produce reports detailing progress and reasons for deviations.
  • Participate in project review meetings with consultants and management, preparing comprehensive progress reports from site visits and progress reviews.
  • Prepare consolidated cash flow projections, progress S-curves, schedules, dashboards, manpower plans, mitigation strategies, and forecasts.
  • Compile schedules for information flow including architectural, engineering, nominations, and long lead items.
  • Oversee resource and cost planning, monitoring against budgets, productivity, historical trends, and project priorities.
  • Manage claims by issuing delay notifications promptly, conducting delay analyses (EOT) with time and cost impact evaluation, and submitting claims per contract obligations.
  • Identify critical project risks, issues, and opportunities for action.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • At least seven years’ experience in an interior fit-out or main contracting environment.
  • Proficient with Primavera, Microsoft Project, and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong knowledge of CPM methodologies, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and construction planning techniques.
  • Client-facing skills with strong presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects in a dynamic setting.
  • Keen attention to detail with thorough understanding of construction processes and methods.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and proven success working within multicultural teams.
  • Experience across diverse project types including hospitality, hotels, luxury residential, palaces, retail, entertainment, health, and education sectors.
  • Well-developed technical and commercial skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current trends and developments in the fit-out industry, with capability to propose initiatives enhancing the company’s market position and brand.
  • Fluent English communication and interpersonal skills to thrive in a multinational workplace.
