About the Role
Join Parsons in Doha, Qatar, as a Lead Hydraulic Modeller and play a pivotal role in designing, modeling, and analyzing surface water hydraulic systems. This position involves overseeing project teams to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions in line with international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and calibrate surface water network hydraulic models using specialized software, spreadsheets, and GIS tools.
- Conduct performance assessments, evaluate development plans, and simulate various operational scenarios to support project goals.
- Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing modeling outcomes tailored for client reviews and presentations.
- Collaborate actively within the Drainage team to ensure the accuracy and quality of deliverables.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 13 years of practical experience in hydraulic modeling applied to surface water infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in building, verifying, and calibrating hydraulic models using appropriate software tools.
- Expertise in designing surface water networks for both pre-planned layouts and new developments.
- Strong knowledge of international codes and standards relevant to hydraulic engineering.
- Capability to function effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Advanced user of InfoWorks ICM, with thorough experience in 1D and 2D hydraulic modeling.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with StormCAD, Civil 3D, or comparable engineering software.
- Previous participation in projects within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) or Qatar region.
- Professional accreditation such as Chartered Engineer status or equivalent membership in institutions like ICE, CIWEM, or ASCE.
- Ability to collaborate across diverse and multicultural teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Comprehensive understanding of theoretical principles alongside practical software applications in hydraulic modeling.
