Job Summary

The Labor Relations Manager is responsible for providing expert consultation and support on labor law matters to ensure business goals align with compliance to laws, collective agreements, works agreements, and corporate policies. This position requires extensive expertise in business processes and labor legislation, reporting directly to the Senior HR People Partner locally. The role emphasizes fostering positive labor relations and adeptly managing labor legal challenges, acting as a pivotal liaison between management and employee representatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Center of Excellence (CoE) "Labor Relations".
  • Lead negotiations on behalf of the Human Resources department.
  • Conduct regular meetings with works councils and employee representatives.
  • Ensure and nurture constructive and trustworthy relationships with employee representatives, works councils, and their committees.
  • Coordinate engagements with labor authorities.
  • Oversee and manage all labor law issues in cooperation with works councils and unions.
  • Prepare and execute negotiations involving employee representation, such as works agreements.
  • Advise managers and HR partners on collective and individual labor law topics.
  • Guarantee adherence to labor law, collective agreements, and corporate internal regulations.
  • Support restructurings, reorganizations, and change initiatives considering labor legal frameworks.
  • Collaborate with external legal consultants and participate in labor court proceedings.
  • Provide training and raise awareness of labor law and employee relations among managers.
  • Monitor legislative updates, case law, and labor negotiation developments, ensuring follow-up discussions with works councils.

Professional Qualifications

  • Degree in Law, Business Law, or Labor Law.
  • Deep knowledge of collective and individual labor legislation including BetrVG, ArbZG, TzBfG, and related regulations.
  • Preferably experience in HR focusing on labor law or labor relations, especially in collectively bound companies.
  • Experience in engaging with employee representatives and negotiation leadership is advantageous.
