Job description
Role Overview
The Kitchenhand position supports the Kitchen Supervisor and Cook in delivering nutritious, diverse, and quality meals to youth and staff at the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Exhibit cultural awareness and commitment to fostering cultural capability, aligning with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supporting initiatives that maintain Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural connections.
- Assist in preparing and serving nutritious and varied meals for young people and staff members.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols and safety standards pertinent to the Youth Detention Centre's kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen work areas and equipment.
- Help manage inventory including stores and provisions control.
- Support stock control systems through accurate recording and regular stocktaking activities.
- Perform administrative duties related to food services, such as ordering, storing, and distributing supplies.
Additional Information
