Role Overview

The Kitchen Operations Supervisor, based on-site in Jeddah, manages daily kitchen activities to guarantee safe, efficient, and superior food preparation. Responsibilities include supervising kitchen personnel, delegating work assignments, and overseeing performance metrics related to hygiene, portion sizes, and food presentation. This role involves coordinating production schedules, managing inventory and ordering, and implementing cost control by minimizing waste and optimizing ingredient use. The supervisor ensures strict adherence to food safety regulations, company policies, and occupational health guidelines. In addition, they facilitate staff training on procedures and best practices, collaborate with catering and service teams to meet client expectations, resolve any operational challenges, and drive continuous enhancements in kitchen processes.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing kitchen operations, food production, and supervising culinary or catering teams.
  • Thorough knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene protocols, and health and safety legislation relevant to commercial kitchens.
  • Strong leadership capabilities including staff scheduling, task delegation, and team management in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Expertise in inventory control, stock monitoring, and coordination with procurement to ensure timely ingredient availability.
  • Skilled in production planning, scheduling, and maintaining quality control for consistent and efficient output.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and client-facing teams.
  • Ability to rapidly resolve operational issues and adapt to last-minute changes through effective problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in catering, institutional food services, or large-scale kitchen settings; familiarity working in Saudi Arabia is mandatory.
  • Preferred educational background or vocational qualifications in culinary arts, hospitality management, or food service operations.
  • Willingness to work full-time on-site in Jeddah, including flexible hours, weekend shifts, and during peak event periods.
