Role Overview

We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant at our Whanganui village to support daily kitchen activities. This position is critical for enabling chefs to provide nutritious and well-presented meals to residents and visitors. Your contributions, ranging from food prep to maintaining cleanliness, will be valued and impactful.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare basic food items including peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
• Assist in plating meals and enhancing presentation.
• Operate dishwashing equipment, ensuring all kitchen utensils meet hygiene standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen spaces according to health compliance.
• Support inventory management by unpacking, receiving deliveries, and rotating stock appropriately.

Work Schedule

The role follows a rotating pattern of four consecutive days on with two days off, including two morning and two afternoon shifts.

Candidate Profile

• Hospitality experience is preferred, with the ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team.
• Friendly disposition with effective communication skills.
• Physically fit with good stamina.
