Position Summary

The Junior Mold Assembler role focuses on unpacking, disassembling, and cleaning injection mold tools used in packaging manufacturing. The appointed individual will collaborate closely with seasoned mold makers and assemblers to acquire foundational skills, techniques, and operational knowledge critical to the industry.

Work Schedule

• Day shift availability
• Monday to Friday, between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM

Major Responsibilities

• Unpack molds from crates and extract them safely
• Disassemble molds and clean their components to assess repair needs
• Troubleshoot mold parts, documenting necessary repairs
• Prepare molds and components for subsequent manufacturing stages
• Employ measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers
• Use hand and power tools for assembling and disassembling mold components
• Interpret diagrams, engineering drawings, and written instructions to perform accurate assembly
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area and the shop floor
• Support senior mold makers with adjustments, repairs, troubleshooting, and related duties
• Adhere strictly to company safety policies, including PPE usage
• Practice personal and workplace safety

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent education
• Familiarity with plastic injection molds is advantageous
• Basic mechanical skills and proficiency with hand and power tools
• Strong emphasis on detail and precision
• Ability to follow directions and collaborate effectively within a team
• Capability to maintain safety in a manufacturing setting

Additional Competencies

• Possession of a forklift license is an asset
• Experience operating cranes is beneficial
• Physical ability to lift steel components weighing up to 30 lbs
• Teamwork and communication skills
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Self-motivation and capacity to work independently

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly wage ranging from $22.00 to $26.00, dependent on experience, skills, and shift
