About the Role and Company
Lycopodium operates globally with offices in Australia, Africa, Canada, Peru, and the Philippines, delivering top-tier engineering and project execution services across resource, infrastructure, and industrial process sectors. Joining the Perth-based team as a Junior Estimator, you will be part of a dynamic group contributing to new projects and studies worldwide.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist and occasionally lead estimating portions of project studies.
- Collaborate with Lead and Senior Estimators to produce precise and high-quality capital cost estimates.
- Help develop detailed capital cost forecasts aligned with project and client needs.
- Maintain and update project scopes regularly to manage scope changes and facilitate accurate reporting.
- Support estimate presentations and participate in peer and client review sessions.
- Contribute to documentation that forms the basis of estimates.
- Ensure all estimating inputs and cost information are transparent and traceable throughout the project.
- Maintain clear and effective communication channels with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Engage actively in relevant project meetings to ensure alignment and information sharing.
Candidate Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a university degree in a relevant discipline related to estimating, or equivalent industry experience or trades background as acceptable alternatives.
- Valuable prior experience working on construction sites within mining, mineral processing, or similar industrial sectors.
- Hands-on familiarity with different facets of estimating in mineral processing or analogous industries.
- Strong interpersonal skills to nurture positive relationships with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
- Excellent technical understanding alongside analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to operate efficiently with limited supervision, showing initiative.
- Personal attributes of integrity, trustworthiness, and dedication.
- High attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret technical and engineering drawings.
