Role Overview

The Junior Estimator will collaborate with consultants, contractors, accounting, and operations teams to deliver precise financial and budgeting insights, ensuring successful project estimations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive and assess contract enquiries for business alignment and update relevant databases adhering to quality assurance standards.
• Solicit quotations from suppliers to obtain competitive pricing by strategically selecting appropriate vendors and manufacturing sites.
• Coordinate internally with various departments to prepare detailed programs and quality submissions according to requests for quotations.
• Evaluate and negotiate supply chain quotes considering raw material costs and manufacturing expenses across different regions; review terms to comply with tender norms.
• Support tender analysis by compiling and professionally presenting data for internal and client reviews.
• Develop detailed cost breakdowns to aid contract evaluations.
• Analyze and present mark-up details during tender vetting meetings.
• Ensure tender summary sheets are properly authorized following quality assurance protocols.
• Track quotation progress and participate in client meetings as required.
• Examine enquiry documentation such as contract conditions, specifications, drawings, and material lists to identify risks, opportunities, and appropriate pricing strategies.
• Attend handover sessions between estimating and operational/commercial teams to provide sufficient project details for advancing work.

Candidate Profile

• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other IT tools.
• Experience estimating costs specifically in metal fabrication.
• Strong command of English, both spoken and written.
• Highly self-driven and motivated.
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively within teams.
• Effective time management skills to meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for internal and external interactions.
• Organized with a strong sense of multitasking, especially during peak workload periods.
• Ability to perform efficiently under pressure.
• Confident presenter with sound interpersonal abilities.
