A prominent enterprise client based in Dublin seeks a seasoned IT Risk Manager to steer their IT governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) functions. This key role includes operational leadership of the IT team when necessary and serving as a trusted advisor to senior IT leaders concerning risk, compliance, and control issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, uphold, and refine IT governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks continuously.
- Assume ownership of all IT-related policies, procedures, standards, and regulatory documentation, ensuring their alignment with prevailing legal requirements and globally recognized standards.
- Guarantee adherence to pertinent regulations and standards, including GDPR, cybersecurity mandates, and industry-leading practices.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and emerging cyberthreats, proactively offering strategies to mitigate risks and reinforce controls.
- Function as the lead liaison for internal and external audits, handling all stages from scheduling to remediation.
- Deliver precise and prompt reporting on risk and compliance matters to senior management and stakeholders.
- Safeguard sensitive organizational, employee, and customer data by enforcing proper governance and control mechanisms and supervising related security efforts.
- Collaborate closely with IT and security teams to identify, record, and mitigate risks according to business priorities.
- Contribute governance and compliance insights to business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response planning.
- Provide day-to-day operational leadership of the IT department in the absence of the Head of IT or when engaged in projects.
- Assist in prioritizing workloads, managing escalations, and making operational decisions during leadership gaps.
- Serve as a crucial link between IT, senior leadership, and other parts of the business to maintain service continuity and effective communication.
- Encourage strong cooperation across departments, fostering accountability, standards adherence, and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Between two and three years of experience in data protection or cyber resilience compliance.
- Strong skills in preparing documentation, including proficiency with Word and Excel for reporting.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity systems and applications and their deployment.
- Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within teams.
- Effective management abilities, particularly in time management.
- Excellent interpersonal aptitude to facilitate cross-departmental and customer communication.
- Outstanding communication skills for liaising among various teams and stakeholders.
