About the Role
This position is pivotal in ensuring consistent, high-quality execution of incident, problem, and event management by guiding incoming tasks, mentoring team members, and maintaining team momentum. As the main contact on the Operations Hotline during business hours, the specialist delivers clear, accurate, and professional communication with technology leaders and business stakeholders. By promoting process improvements, embedding scalable practices, and exemplifying cooperative behavior, this role is fundamental in enhancing Westpac's operational resilience and allowing the manager to concentrate on strategic improvements throughout the wider technology organization.
Candidate Profile
- Certified ITIL 4 Practitioner with hands-on experience using DevOps tools.
- Over eight years in operational roles, including senior or leadership roles, demonstrated success in integrating processes.
- Exceptional mentoring and facilitation skills combined with empathy and adaptability to help team members navigate change.
- Strong analytical ability focused on root cause analysis and knowledge of AI-enhanced operational methods.
- Capability to oversee 24/7 on-call operations in dynamic environments emphasizing enablement rather than control.
