Job description
Role Overview
As the IT Manager at Gameloft Brisbane, you will oversee the technology needs of diverse teams such as artists, designers, programmers, QA, and administrative personnel to ensure their systems and software operate smoothly and securely. You will lead the IT Support Technicians team, coordinate the studio's IT infrastructure management, anticipate future tech requirements, and implement robust solutions enabling peak team performance. Collaborating closely with local and global stakeholders, you will supervise daily IT activities, enhance processes, manage third-party vendors and IT assets, and uphold a secure, resilient technological environment during studio growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate the local IT support team, setting clear objectives and fostering professional development.
- Deliver technical support addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues for users.
- Administer hardware/software inventories, uphold IT security and compliance, and generate necessary reports.
- Partner with IT Director, Global Infrastructure, and Information Security teams to standardize operations and boost security company-wide.
- Oversee installation, deployment, and licensing of software packages.
- Utilize monitoring solutions like Grafana to proactively track infrastructure health and performance.
- Manage virtualization platforms to maximize server efficiency and resource use.
- Supervise on-premises infrastructure, core services, and network management.
- Provide ongoing status updates and reports to Studio Manager and IT Director to align with strategic priorities.
- Participate directly in hardware setups, equipment moves, and shipping logistics as needed.
- Collaborate with studio leadership, including the Studio Director, to shape technology strategies and infrastructure planning aligned with long-term studio goals.
- Occasionally engage in after-hours maintenance, upgrades, deployments, or critical incident responses to minimize operational disruption.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements in IT processes and overall technology experience.
Success Indicators
Your effectiveness will be evident through building a high-functioning IT department that provides dependable support, maintains secure and efficient infrastructure, and partners effectively with studio and global IT leadership to advance practical, enabling technology solutions for game creation.
Recruitment Process

- Second interview: Meeting with IT Director.
- Final stage: Interviews with Studio Manager and Technical Director.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated leadership experience in IT, including managing or mentoring technical support teams.
- Expertise with Windows server and desktop environments, networking fundamentals, virtualization, and on-premises IT infrastructure.
- Proven competence in IT operations encompassing hardware/software lifecycle, asset, and software licensing management.
- Strong knowledge of IT security best practices, system monitoring, backups, and business continuity strategies.
- Excellent troubleshooting capabilities paired with a customer-centric approach and skilled stakeholder management.
- Exceptional organizational aptitude to juggle multiple priorities within fast-paced settings.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 suite including Intune, Entra ID (Azure AD), Defender, and Exchange Online.
- Experience scripting automation using PowerShell.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as Grafana.
- Background supporting game development or creative studio environments.
- Relevant certifications from Microsoft, VMware, or other leading technology organizations.
