About Air Products and Role Overview
Air Products is a global leader in industrial gases since 1940, known for innovation, safety, and environmental care. This position focuses on managing IT infrastructure, supporting critical technology systems at the site, and ensuring compliance with IT standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure cable installations adhere to proper management, labeling, and Air Products' IT standards.
- Oversee installation, termination, and testing of structured cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optic cables for data, voice, and CCTV systems.
- Conduct monitoring and documentation of fiber optic cables using OTDR and Fluke testing tools.
- Design and organize IT room cabinets, mount equipment, and maintain accurate cable management and records.
- Inspect and verify communication cable installations to meet project specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and external parties for infrastructure and support services.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues in cabling, connectors, and network drops.
- Assist in installing and configuring Demilitarized Zones (DMZ) for network security.
- Follow health and safety standards during site operations.
- Execute tasks aligned with Safety Work Permit policies.
- Develop and obtain approval for Job Safety Analysis or Risk Assessments for assigned duties.
- Support technical setup and management of Microwave and Tetra tower installations with external vendor collaboration.
- Maintain inspection test reports and upload documentation to project management systems.
- Deploy and manage temporary IT infrastructure including network cabling, wireless access points, and VPN connections.
- Coordinate local issue resolution and deployments, especially for network and wireless technologies, working with remote DIS teams.
- Provide ongoing IT support and uphold safety and IT standards within IT rooms under responsibility.
- Deliver IT support for industrial control systems at the site.
- Install and upgrade network hardware as needed, supporting maintenance functions beyond the scope of Network Technical Support.

Educational Background and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience and certifications.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Proven expertise in desktop support or IT infrastructure roles.
- Strong knowledge of PC client operating systems, specifically Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 10.
- Understanding of network fundamentals including TCP/IP and LAN/WAN technologies.
- Experience with remote connectivity technologies such as SSL and VPN solutions.
- Competent in printing queue setup, network troubleshooting, and familiarity with HP printing hardware.
- Basic understanding of software distribution and Microsoft SCCM.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Office 365.
- Experience with Microsoft SCEP and Windows Firewall.
- Familiarity with virtual desktop infrastructure or Citrix environments.
Additional Desirable Expertise
- Knowledge of Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
- Exposure to broader IT infrastructure components including servers, security, and voice technologies.
- Capability to collaborate with strategic vendors, external service providers, and third-party vendors.
- Understanding of ITIL process frameworks such as Incident, Change, and Problem Management as practiced at Air Products.
