Job description
Role Overview
Calzado Gamos is looking for a dedicated IT Application Operations Specialist to oversee and sustain the efficient functioning of our business applications. This role is crucial in ensuring the availability, performance, and smooth day-to-day operation of our systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor the performance, availability, and overall health of applications.
- Offer technical support to resolve business application concerns.
- Investigate and rectify incidents, errors, and application malfunctions.
- Manage all service requests, incident handling, problem resolutions, and change processes.
- Collaborate effectively with development, infrastructure, database, and security teams.
- Carry out regular maintenance, configuration updates, and upgrades of applications.
- Support integrations including system interfaces, APIs, and scheduled processes.
- Assist in application testing phases, deployment activities, and release management.
- Keep technical documentation and operational logs up to date.
- Liaise with external vendors and service providers as required.
- Ensure user access controls and application security measures are maintained.
- Identify recurring issues, analyze root causes, and apply corrective actions to avoid reoccurrence.
- Prepare and present operational and performance reports.
- Participate in efforts to optimize systems and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure applications align with both business and operational requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar disciplines.
- Experience in IT operations or application support roles.
- Proficient troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
- Working knowledge of SQL, database administration, APIs, and system integrations.
- Familiar with Windows and Linux operating systems, cloud environments, and enterprise applications.
- Understanding of ITIL frameworks or IT service management principles is a plus.
- Experience with monitoring tools and ticketing systems for incident management.
- Familiarity with user access control, security protocols, and backup strategies.
- Strong organizational abilities and excellent communication skills, able to work collaboratively in teams.
- Capability to efficiently manage multiple incidents and prioritize workloads.
- Competent in Microsoft Office suite and various IT support utilities.
- Professional approach with reliability, proactivity, and attention to detail.
