Job description
Role Overview
The Inventory Handler I plays a crucial role in supporting warehouse functions with a focus on precise receiving, proper storage, and prompt dispatching of inventory items. The role demands meticulous attention to detail and dedication to maintaining exemplary standards of inventory control and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process spare parts for both customer and internal requests, ensuring timely shipment and compliance with quality benchmarks.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks and containers, and verify the accuracy of orders being delivered.
- Cross-check invoices against physical inventory during transactions with suppliers and inter-branch transfers when required.
- Prepare and document shipments upon warehouse receipt, ensuring paperwork is accurate and completed within a 24-hour timeframe.
- Arrange and classify parts systematically for easy retrieval based on demand and categorization.
- Oversee and resolve inventory discrepancies and manage defective parts effectively.
- Control excess inventory effectively while adhering to First-In-First-Out (FIFO) inventory procedures.
- Label inventory items with barcodes or tags to enable precise tracking.
- Use ERP-based inventory management software and computer systems for inventory data input and monitoring.
- Coordinate with the parts procurement team to organize and prepare staging areas for supplier and vendor deliveries.
- Follow strict personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols and all safety procedures to foster a safe warehouse environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of three CXC O'Level passes including English language.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret documents such as invoices and departmental manuals.
- Capability of lifting weights up to 50 pounds.
- Physical readiness for frequent standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, and bending during work hours.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
