About the Role

Westpac Mobile is undergoing a transformation to update our mobile applications, aiming to deliver an intuitive and appealing experience for customers. As part of this journey, you will collaborate closely with the product team to gather requirements, design solutions, and take ownership of the full app development lifecycle from design to deployment. This includes development, quality assurance, and delivery phases.

  • Create and deliver production-ready mobile application features.
  • Integrate mobile components into the central codebase.
  • Guide teams in adopting best coding practices for iOS and Android platforms.
  • Comply with established code quality standards focused on security and managing technical debt.
  • Evaluate library documentation for clarity, consistency, and usefulness.
  • Provide regular updates on team and system progress to stakeholders and sponsors.
  • Demonstrate the system's advantages and workflows to product owners, content experts, and other teams within the organization.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Operate within agile, multidisciplinary teams to launch new features and improve the current platform.
  • Collaborate with mobile engineers to refine patterns and standards and deploy system components into production.
  • Work closely with product owners and scrum teams to design experiences for digital products.
  • Contribute to engineering best practices and squad workflows.
  • Influence and enhance mobile development methodologies.
  • Promote teamwork and cooperate with cross-functional groups to improve quality and user experience.
  • Partner with the broader digital team to advance and codify user experience standards.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with technical development teams.

What You Will Bring

  • Between 3 and 5 years of professional experience developing iOS mobile applications.
  • Proficient in Swift programming language.
  • Experienced with SwiftUI composition.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems architecture.
  • Track record of building complex systems within team-based environments.
  • Clear understanding of quality engineering practices and mobile automation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Objective-C and Java is an advantage.
  • Experience in mobile DevOps tools such as fastlane or Gradle and Jenkins is beneficial.
