Job description
Role Overview
We are currently recruiting an Intelligence Analyst to join the Enterprise Strategy and Design division, specifically within the Physical Security Management team at the Australian Taxation Office. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data to evaluate potential physical security threats targeting staff, sensitive information, and assets of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
You will identify emerging risks and patterns to produce both operational and long-term intelligence reports. Operating in a fast-paced environment, your work will involve synthesizing information from diverse sources to deliver prompt threat assessments. These insights directly influence security practices, resource allocation, and policy development within the agency.
Collaboration and Information Access
The position involves close cooperation with internal departments and external intelligence and law enforcement bodies to craft security intelligence that offers actionable recommendations for security advisors and decision-makers. You will have authorized access to a broad range of classified and open-source data, including sensitive systems and networks, to protect the organization's personnel and assets from physical security hazards.
Work Environment and Conditions
Given the nature of the role, a minimum presence of three days per week onsite is mandatory. This is necessary to utilize secure systems, access classified materials, and handle the ASNet infrastructure integral to the agency’s operations. Positions may be based on either an ongoing or fixed-term contract in locations such as Adelaide, Canberra, Upper Mount Gravatt, or Wollongong.
Diversity and Inclusion Commitment
The agency values diversity and the wide range of perspectives it brings. Inclusive hiring practices are a priority, with encouragement extended to candidates with disabilities, neurodivergence, Indigenous Australians, and individuals from diverse backgrounds. Accommodations and adjustments will be made available throughout the hiring process to support all applicants.
