Role Overview
Based in Doha, Qatar, the Information Security Consultant position is a full-time onsite role accountable for the evaluation, development, and application of information security measures and frameworks across telecom, IT, and networking services provided by Loons Group. Key responsibilities include performing security risk evaluations, assessing system architecture, guiding project teams on cyber and data privacy best practices, crafting and updating information security policies, and supporting ISMS deployment and oversight. This role also involves liaising with various stakeholders to ensure regulatory and standards compliance, delivering security training, managing security incident investigations, and preparing technical and user-friendly documentation for diverse audiences.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in implementing and maintaining Information Security Management Systems and broader security management practices.
- Expertise in cybersecurity and network security, including safeguarding infrastructure and vulnerability identification.
- Knowledge of data privacy principles, regulatory compliance, and privacy-by-design methodologies.
- Experience with prominent security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, alongside risk assessment techniques.
- Strong analytical aptitude with the ability to clarify complex technical matters into actionable recommendations.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor are highly advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication skills and the capability to collaborate effectively across engineering and project teams.
