About the Role
The IND SAM Analyst, Infrastructure will play a key role in managing the software asset management program for infrastructure-related software at Hartford Global Services Private Limited. The position focuses on ensuring compliance, optimizing software expenditures, and overseeing the full lifecycle of infrastructure software assets.
Responsibilities
- Conduct periodic inventories and reconciliations of software assets related to infrastructure components including servers, virtualization environments, databases, and network devices.
- Analyze software usage and licensing entitlements to highlight risks regarding compliance and uncover opportunities to reduce costs.
- Prepare and keep up-to-date accurate licensing position reports across a variety of infrastructure vendors.
- Facilitate software audits by supplying required documentation and data to internal and external auditors.
- Work collaboratively with IT operations, procurement, and legal departments to uphold effective software asset management policies and procedures.
- Research and comprehend licensing models for new and existing infrastructure software products.
- Identify software optimization areas and engage vendor negotiations aimed at cost reduction.
- Maintain SAM-related databases and tools with current data on infrastructure software assets.
- Develop and implement best practices geared toward managing infrastructure software assets efficiently.
- Provide training and advisory support to relevant teams on SAM policies and methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business Administration.
- 2 to 4 years of direct experience in Software Asset Management, notably focusing on infrastructure software.
- In-depth knowledge of various infrastructure software licensing schemes, including CPU-based, core-based, and user-based licensing for operating systems, databases, and virtualization technologies.
- Proficiency and experience with SAM tools like Flexera, Snow Software, or ServiceNow SAM Pro are highly advantageous.
- Excellent analytical capabilities coupled with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for analysis and report generation.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and IT asset management standards.
- Relevant certifications such as CSAM or CAMP are considered beneficial.
