Role Overview
Recruit4Talent is looking to fill four full-time Hygiene Operative positions at a privately owned food production facility located in Bilston. This large-scale operation, generating multimillion-pound turnover, caters to retail, wholesale, catering, and foodservice sectors throughout the UK and internationally. The scheduled working hours are Tuesday to Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Responsibilities focus on ensuring that assigned production zones are maintained in a clean, safe, and audit-compliant state, upholding stringent food safety and health standards. Candidates must be physically active throughout their shifts and consistently meet factory operational benchmarks. Prior experience in a similar environment is preferred, although comprehensive training will be provided for suitable candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and compliance of designated production areas proactively.
- Ensure adherence to all food safety and health and safety policies.
- Monitor production zones for hygiene concerns and act swiftly to correct any issues.
- Uphold consistent factory operational standards throughout shifts.
- Remain physically active and on foot during scheduled work hours.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience working as a Hygiene Operative, Cleaning Operative, or similar role in food manufacturing, food production, or industrial settings.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety protocols, hygiene practices, and health and safety regulations.
- A proactive approach to work with strong problem-identification and resolution capabilities.
- Physical fitness to handle manual tasks including lifting, carrying cleaning equipment, and managing waste materials.
- Proficient in English both spoken and written to effectively comprehend training, instructions, and safety standards.
- Dependable and responsible attitude with ownership of assigned work areas.
- Keen attention to detail and dedication to maintaining high operational standards.
- Ability to follow established procedures and consistently meet company quality benchmarks.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay starting at £12.83, with an increased rate after 6:00 PM (£13.58 per hour).
- Higher pay of £14.89 per hour for Saturday work.
- Overtime compensated at £16.04 per hour.
