Human-AI Interaction and UX Specialist (Remote, Part-Time)

Overview

Join TELUS Digital as a Human-AI Interaction (HAI) and User Experience (UX) Specialist where you will play a key role in shaping intuitive AI systems. This position focuses on minimizing friction between user intent and AI responses, enhancing AI's personality, empathy, and logical capabilities to transform AI from a mere tool into a trusted partner. Operating entirely remotely on a part-time basis, the role requires you to optimize multi-turn conversations and cultivate user trust through thoughtful design.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth conversational UX audits to assess the continuity and efficiency of multi-turn AI interactions, ensuring state maintenance, cognitive load reduction, and provision of clear actionable responses.
• Analyze and fine-tune the AI’s trust calibration by identifying moments of overconfidence or excessive caution, thus balancing user expectations and satisfaction.
• Create and evaluate various AI personas and tones, such as empathetic counselors and objective data analysts, aligning them with industry-specific contexts.
• Promote accessibility and inclusivity by examining AI performance across diverse speech patterns, dialects, and special accessibility requirements to guarantee a globally inclusive AI experience.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of one year professional experience relevant to the role.
• Candidates must be able to work between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM Indian Standard Time due to company scheduling.
• A bachelor’s degree in human-computer interaction (HCI), cognitive psychology, UX research, behavioral economics, or a closely related field is mandatory.
• Native-level proficiency (C2+) in the candidate’s primary language is required to accurately assess cultural nuances and natural conversational flow.
• English proficiency at least at intermediate (B1) level to facilitate collaboration with the global AI community.

Compensation and Application Details
