About the Role
Join GHD as an experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator based primarily in Auckland or Wellington. This position offers the chance to actively contribute to the implementation and enhancement of health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives that support both individuals and projects throughout New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the deployment and ongoing improvement of HSE programs and initiatives.
- Support incident management activities including reporting, investigation, and corrective action follow-ups.
- Manage and maintain health and safety documentation, records, and systems.
- Facilitate risk assessments and help implement risk mitigation measures.
- Participate in audit, inspection, and compliance efforts to uphold safety standards.
- Provide expert guidance to employees and leaders regarding HSE matters.
- Organize safety training, awareness initiatives, and communications across the business.
- Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics and emerging trends.
- Encourage and foster a proactive safety culture throughout the organisation.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with legislation and company policies.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 3 to 4 years of experience in HSE coordination or a related role.
- Hold a relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline (preferred).
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of health and safety laws and best practices.
- Experienced in supporting HSE systems, managing risks, and handling incidents.
- Exhibit strong organisational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Skilled in building effective relationships across various business levels.
- Proficient in analyzing HSE data, identifying trends, and delivering insights to aid decisions and improvements.
- Communicate effectively with strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Adopt a proactive, cooperative, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Adapt well within a continuously evolving, dynamic environment.
Work Environment and Culture
