Role Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable HSE Coordinator located primarily in Wellington or Auckland to contribute to advancing health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives across projects in New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, implementing, and enhancing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs and initiatives.
- Support accident/incident reporting, investigation procedures, follow-up actions, and corrective measures.
- Maintain and organize HSE-related documentation, systems, and records.
- Contribute to risk assessment activities and the application of risk control measures.
- Help conduct audits, inspections, and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Offer advice and support on HSE issues to employees and management.
- Coordinate and facilitate HSE training sessions, awareness campaigns, and communication efforts.
- Track and analyze HSE performance indicators and trends.
- Champion a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
- Work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure ongoing improvement and adherence to legislative and corporate HSE requirements.
Candidate Profile
- 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in roles similar to HSE Coordinator or Health & Safety Coordinator.
- Desirable to hold qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or related fields.
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety laws and best practice methodologies.
- Experience managing HSE systems, incident reporting, and risk management activities.
- Strong organizational and administrative capabilities with high attention to detail.
- Capability to develop productive working relationships across different levels within an organization.
- Competent in analyzing HSE metrics, recognizing patterns, and providing actionable insights to foster continuous improvements.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
- A proactive, teamwork-oriented, and solution-driven mindset.
- Adaptability to flourish in a fast-changing and developing work environment.
