Job description
About the Role
The HR Manager will oversee the entire Human Resources and Administration functions at a manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra. Reporting directly to the Managing Director or Director, this position requires leading manpower planning, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, payroll coordination, training, engagement, discipline, and HR systems to align with business goals.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies and manpower plans consistent with manufacturing needs.
- Prepare and monitor annual manpower budgets; optimize workforce deployment and productivity.
- Manage the full recruitment cycle for technical, supervisory, managerial and support roles, ensuring timely hiring and onboarding.
- Maintain positive employee relations, handle grievances, disciplinary actions, and implement company policies.
- Coordinate performance management processes, including KRA/KPI setting, reviews, and development plans for underperformers.
- Identify training needs, organize technical and leadership development, and track training effectiveness.
- Ensure accuracy in payroll, attendance tracking, shift scheduling, and HR records management.
- Maintain statutory compliance with labor laws and coordinate audits, inspections, and documentation.
- Generate detailed monthly HR MIS reports on workforce and operational metrics.
- Develop and standardize HR policies and streamline HR processes, including digital initiatives.
- Oversee administration and employee welfare including housekeeping, security, canteen, and transport services.
- Provide strategic HR insights and support management decisions during organizational growth and change.
Required Profile
The ideal candidate brings 8 to 15 years of progressive experience in manufacturing HR, especially plant HR and industrial relations, with exposure to blue-collar, technical, supervisory, and managerial staff. Strong expertise in recruitment, payroll, performance management, manpower planning, employee relations, disciplinary procedures, and labor compliance is essential.
Preferred backgrounds include automotive, engineering, polymer, or industrial products sectors, with experience in multi-shift manufacturing environments and familiarity with HRIS/ERP systems. Experience in lean manufacturing culture and statutory audit handling is advantageous.

Compensation
The monthly salary range is INR 50,000 to 55,000.

Master's Degree
