About the Role
The Housekeeping Coordinator will efficiently manage daily housekeeping operations by running sold room reports, verifying room status, prioritizing room cleaning, and updating the status of departing guest rooms. The coordinator supports housekeeping management by coordinating tasks among the Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry departments, and addressing any discrepancies related to room status in partnership with the Front Desk. They prepare and circulate room assignments, maintain and update the ‘Do Not Disturb’ list, and ensure timely cleaning of vacant dirty rooms including rush assignments.
Responsibilities
- Generate and analyze sold room reports and confirm room statuses.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in room assignments and cleaning priorities.
- Coordinate housekeeping activities with Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry teams.
- Document and resolve issues regarding rooms in conflict with the Front Desk.
- Prepare and distribute room assignments to housekeeping staff.
- Maintain and monitor the ‘Do Not Disturb’ room list, and assign cleaning to previously unavailable rooms promptly.
- Ensure all housekeeping paperwork is accurately completed.
- Follow company policies and safety protocols, report maintenance and safety concerns.
- Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Provide exemplary guest service by greeting guests and anticipating their needs professionally.
- Support team goals by fostering positive working relationships and addressing employee concerns effectively.
- Communicate clearly with team members and complete documentation accurately.
- Perform physical tasks such as standing or walking for long periods, and handling objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- At least one year of related work experience in a similar role.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No specific licenses or certifications needed.
