Work Schedule and Location

This full-time position operates during day shifts from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, including working every other weekend. The workplace is located at 1301 S Main Street, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of assigned patient areas and public spaces, including trash removal and surface sanitization
• Maintain stocked supplies like paper products and cleaning solutions in designated areas
• Apply thorough knowledge of infection control protocols, isolation procedures, and proper equipment usage
• Use bed management system and handheld technology to support patient bed flow
• Operate cleaning and trash carts alongside other janitorial equipment
• Collect and prepare soiled linens for disposal
• Dispose of regular and biohazard waste per facility guidelines
• Clean and disinfect bodily fluid areas adhering to institutional standards
• Document all performed cleaning and maintenance tasks accurately
• Access and maintain ancillary units, restrooms, and office spaces within assigned areas

Required and Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with general concepts, practices, and procedures in cleaning and sanitation
• Capability to maintain equipment and work areas in a safe and hygienic state
• Proficiency in English communication
• Basic computer literacy, including mouse and keyboard use
• Ability to operate computers using standard office software
• Excellent customer service aptitude
• Comfortable interacting directly with patients
• Able to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets, product labels, and interpret various reports, including basic arithmetic skills
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions, with a solid understanding of environmental cleaning duties
• Previous experience in healthcare environmental services preferred
• Knowledge of additional languages regarded as an advantage

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in housekeeping or custodial roles preferred

Compensation

The pay scale for this role ranges between $15.96 and $25.54 per hour.
