Role Overview
We are seeking a Hotel Front Office Host to join our busy front office team. This position involves being the initial point of contact for guests and visitors, providing a friendly welcome and ensuring outstanding customer service. The role encompasses managing reception, reservations, switchboard operations, and guest support while coordinating with various hotel and hospital departments.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a comprehensive and professional reception service to guests, patients, visitors, and staff.
- Greet visitors warmly and direct them to appropriate areas or departments.
- Handle guest inquiries and provide information on hotel services and local attractions.
- Operate the hotel switchboard efficiently, managing incoming calls.
- Manage reservations, guest check-ins, and check-outs.
- Assist conference, housekeeping, food and beverage, and other hotel functions as needed.
- Maintain accurate financial records, billing, and cash management processes.
- Adhere to health, safety, and security protocols at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the Conference Hotel and National Hospital.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in a hotel reception or similar customer service role.
- Outstanding communication abilities, including a professional phone manner.
- Proficient IT skills, especially with Microsoft Office, email, and internet applications.
- Capable of working both independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills with accurate attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster positive relationships.
- Demonstrates tact, diplomacy, and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
- Flexible to work various shifts.
- Composed and effective in emergency situations.
Additional Preferences
- Experience in food and beverage service or preparation.
- Familiarity with GDPR and data protection standards.
- Knowledge of Glasgow and surrounding areas.
- Possession of a full UK driving licence is desirable.
