Head Hostess - Akira Back

Position Overview

The Head Hostess at W Hotels' Akira Back in Dubai will be primarily responsible for managing guest seating and reservations, ensuring smooth operations in the dining area, and providing exceptional hospitality experiences in line with the brand’s luxury standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Answer incoming phone calls and manage dining reservations by entering guest details into the reservation system.
• Maintain and update the wait list, accurately communicating wait times to guests.
• Make thoughtful seating assignments using a station rotation chart and coordinate seating for large or special needs parties.
• Welcome guests upon arrival, ascertain party sizes, and escort them to suitable tables, ensuring tables have clean menus and proper place settings.
• Assist guests around the dining room as needed and oversee cleanliness and readiness of work areas throughout the day.
• Monitor the dining room to evaluate seating availability, service quality, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with guests and colleagues to fulfill dining needs and foster a team environment.
• Support management by participating in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching staff. Serve as a positive role model.
• Comply with all company policies, safety, and security procedures, promptly reporting accidents or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a professional and neat personal appearance and safeguard company confidentiality and assets.
• Communicate clearly and courteously, including phone etiquette consistent with company standards.
• Build and sustain positive work relationships while supporting team goals and responding appropriately to colleague concerns.
• Meet quality standards consistently and perform tasks that may involve standing, sitting, walking extensively, and lifting or moving objects up to 10 pounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• At least one year of relevant work experience in a similar role.
• No supervisory experience is required.
• No licenses or certifications needed.
