GitHub Specialist

Job Responsibilities

• Enhance, maintain, and manage the core GitHub Enterprise Cloud platform.
• Handle administration and automation tasks involving GitHub Enterprise, including organizations, teams, permissions, policies, GitHub Apps, and integrations.
• Develop and extend the internal Workflow Library by creating reusable workflows, actions, and templates.
• Support the migration process from Azure DevOps to GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
• Lead the introduction, enhancement, and operation of GitHub Advanced Security features such as Code Scanning, Secret Scanning, Dependabot, and Security Overview.
• Advise and empower internal international clients regarding migration, workflow design, security onboarding, and best practices.
• Create automations, tools, and reference implementations to improve platform efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with developers, architects, security experts, and stakeholders within an agile team setting.
• Continuously improve developer experience, platform quality, and automation levels.

Candidate Profile

• Several years of hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise, preferably GitHub Enterprise Cloud, in a corporate environment.
• Strong expertise in GitHub administration, including GitHub Actions, repository management, permission models, organizational settings, and platform governance.
• Experience with GitHub Advanced Security or similar application security and code scanning platforms.
• Familiarity with automating platform processes, ideally using TypeScript, Python, Golang, and Bash.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD principles, reusable workflows, actions, templates, and self-service solutions for development teams.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, especially regarding migrations to GitHub, is advantageous.
• High intrinsic motivation and eagerness to deeply engage with GitHub, automation, and developer platform engineering.
• Strong drive to make recurring tasks more efficient and improve them sustainably through automation.
• Good communication skills with a passion for client-focused, solution-oriented advising and empowerment.
• Commitment to quality, emphasizing clean code, usability, automated testing, stable CI/CD processes, and maintainable platform solutions.
• Proficiency in German and English languages at a minimum C1 level.
