Job description
Role Overview
The position involves architecting, deploying, configuring, and managing comprehensive ArcGIS Enterprise systems. This includes handling Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, Data Store, and Web Adaptor components across various environments such as development, testing, and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and maintain ArcGIS Enterprise setups ensuring high availability and robust disaster recovery strategies.
- Handle configuration of ArcGIS Server sites, including federated and hosting servers, managing services, and overseeing service publication.
- Administer enterprise geodatabase environments and ensure seamless integration with related databases.
- Continuously monitor infrastructure performance, availability, system health, and capacity to ensure smooth operation.
- Resolve complex technical issues spanning ArcGIS Enterprise, services, databases, networking setups, and integrations.
- Manage GIS security protocols, including authentication, authorization, SSL certification, and role-based access policies.
- Facilitate integration of ArcGIS Enterprise with enterprise security systems such as Active Directory, LDAP, and Single Sign-On frameworks.
- Create and update technical documentation encompassing architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, and operational workflows.
- Support migration initiatives, version upgrades, environment refreshes, and oversee production deployments.
- Provide leadership and guidance for junior GIS administrators and engineers within the team.
Experience & Expertise Required
- Over eight years of practical experience managing GIS Enterprise infrastructures with a focus on Esri ArcGIS Enterprise.
- In-depth knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, Server, Data Store, and Web Adaptor modules, including federation and distributed GIS architectures.
- Hands-on skills with installation, patching, upgrading, troubleshooting, and configuring ArcGIS Enterprise systems.
- Strong proficiency in enterprise geodatabase management and database connectivity strategies.
- Solid understanding of Windows Server and Linux operating system environments.
- Experience working with IIS, Web Adaptor configurations, SSL/TLS certificates, DNS management, load balancing, and networking.
- Familiarity with enterprise authentication and authorization mechanisms such as Active Directory, LDAP, and SSO.
- Expertise in backup, recovery, high availability plans, disaster recovery, and performance optimization for GIS platforms.
- Knowledge of ArcGIS REST API and enterprise GIS integration techniques.
