Role Overview

Minor Hotels in Queenstown Club Suites is seeking a driven and experienced General Manager to spearhead the reopening of this iconic property after extensive refurbishment. This unique leadership role entails full accountability for operational and financial outcomes, team engagement, and strategic growth as the hotel reestablishes its market position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the property's reopening and ongoing operations to ensure smooth guest and team experiences.
  • Manage day-to-day operations maintaining high standards in presentation, service quality, and fiscal performance.
  • Design and execute strategic revenue plans to optimize business results.
  • Oversee, mentor, and support department heads, including Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Front Office teams.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders such as Body Corporate, Strata Managers, and local business partners.
  • Ensure adherence to workplace health and safety, licensing, and all caretaking responsibilities.
  • Identify areas for operational improvement and develop strategic procedures for enhancement.
  • Motivate and lead staff to sustain a high-performance and engaged team culture.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven leadership experience as a General Manager or senior operator in hotels, resorts, or serviced apartments.
  • Successful track record of managing hotel openings, reopenings, refurbishments, or major business transformations is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge and experience with Body Corporate and strata management and stakeholder collaborations are highly desirable.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Hospitality or Business Management.
  • Understanding of the hospitality market is beneficial.
  • Strong financial and commercial aptitude with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management.
  • Passion for leading teams, promoting staff development, and operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage various stakeholders effectively.
  • A guest-centric approach with enthusiasm, professionalism, and determination to lead a flagship regional property.
