About Green by Nature
Green by Nature proudly serves as the Horowhenua District Council's preferred provider, responsible for preserving the beauty of parks, reserves, playgrounds, and public spaces within the region. With a commitment to maintaining attractive outdoor environments, our team works diligently across various sites in Levin, Manawatū-Whanganui.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Team Manager and collaborating closely with fellow team members, you will undertake general horticultural and garden maintenance tasks. Your activities will encompass planting, weeding, pruning, vegetation control, and upkeep of bedding displays, hanging baskets, roses, borders, and shrubs. Ensuring all duties are carried out with high standards, following well-organized schedules while emphasizing safety for the public, colleagues, and yourself is essential.
Candidate Profile
Although previous gardening or horticulture experience is advantageous, it is not mandatory. We value a strong work ethic, enthusiasm for outdoor work, and a readiness to engage proactively. Key attributes we seek in a candidate include:
- Possession of a current full driver’s license with capability to drive manual vehicles.
- Ability to take ownership of job duties and work cooperatively within a larger team environment, supporting colleagues when needed.
- Preferably holding a Level 3 National Certificate in Horticulture and a current GrowSafe certificate.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
- An energetic and motivated approach with a strong determination to complete tasks effectively.
