Job Summary

This position involves preserving the cleanliness and organization of campus buildings, performing heavy cleaning tasks such as floor cleaning, carpet shampooing, washing walls and glass, and waste removal, ensuring a safe setting for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of trash according to approved procedures and infection control guidelines.
• Dust, damp mop, and sanitize floors while following established cleaning protocols.
• Move furniture and equipment to clean properly and return them to their original locations.
• Clean assigned areas using designated materials and equipment, adhering to an eight-step cleaning process.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other surfaces to maintain hygiene and safety.
• Proactively identify and clean areas in need of attention.
• Complete all tasks assigned by supervisors in compliance with applicable laws and policies.
• Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors; shampoo carpets as required.
• Demonstrate professionalism and collaborate effectively with team members and customers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous janitorial experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must conform with all federal, state, and local guidelines related to the work.

Working Conditions and Schedule

Full-time schedule, primarily Monday through Friday, with hours varying; specific schedule details provided during interview. Positions available at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and other locations within the school district. Applications accepted online only.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly wage set at $11.00.
