Job description
About the Role
SSC Services for Education is seeking full-time Janitor staff to maintain cleanliness and order within the Greencastle Community Schools and other school district locations. As a part of Compass Group, SSC is dedicated to creating safe, clean learning environments nationwide with a focus on employee growth and community support.
Job Responsibilities
- Collect and properly dispose of trash in line with infection control and approved procedures
- Perform dusting and damp mopping of floors according to established guidelines
- Relocate furniture and equipment for cleaning purposes and return them to their original positions
- Clean designated areas using provided materials and equipment, sanitizing all relevant surfaces following an eight-step cleaning procedure
- Wash walls, windows, furniture, and baseboards to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for staff, students, and visitors
- Proactively identify and clean additional areas as needed
- Fulfill tasks assigned by supervisory personnel
- Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations
- Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors; shampoo carpets as required
- Demonstrate professionalism and contribute positively to the team and customer experience
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications
- Preferred prior janitorial experience, though not mandatory
Working Hours and Location
The position operates Monday through Friday from 3:30 pm to 12:00 am, with opportunities for both full-time and flexible part-time schedules to suit individual needs. The primary work location is 1002 Mill Pond Lane, Greencastle, IN 46135, with other school district locations available.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage ranging between $15.25 and $15.50
