Position Overview

We are actively looking to fill a full-time Baker role based at Transylvania University in Lexington, KY. This position requires availability during the day with varying work hours; flexibility is essential. Applications will be accepted online only.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of baked goods such as breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and pastries according to production and catering guidelines.
• Follow approved recipes and proper use of equipment to ensure high-quality food preparation.
• Assist in tracking production details including waste, used and unused portions, and notify supervisors regarding inventory levels.
• Maintain consistent food presentation, quality, portion sizes, and appropriate serving temperatures.
• Ensure cleanliness and order of all utensils, equipment, and work areas, adhering to sanitation and safety standards including OSHA regulations.
• Handle all food items with care, following all safety and hygiene protocols.
• Engage courteously with customers, address complaints professionally, and escalate concerns to supervisors when required.
• Maintain composure and efficiency during peak production periods.
• Complete assigned tasks timely at the end of each shift and undertake additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in high-volume baking environments is mandatory.
• Open availability to accommodate scheduling needs.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly wage ranges from $17.00 to $19.00.
