Frontend Software Engineer, TikTok LIVE - Australia

About the Role

We are seeking passionate and skilled engineers to join our team focused on developing and optimizing a large-scale, high-performance, real-time distributed infrastructure specifically designed for live streaming on TikTok LIVE. This role involves engaging fully in the product development life cycle and working closely with product managers to deliver a superior streaming experience for both broadcasters and viewers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and enhancement of the TikTok LIVE ecosystem, centering on the user-facing features across web, mobile, and desktop platforms while coordinating with full-stack systems.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including client-side and backend developers as well as UX/UI designers to transform wireframes and design concepts into responsive and visually compelling user interfaces.
• Keep up to date with the latest front-end technology trends, proposing and implementing innovative solutions that improve product quality and optimize user experience.
• Perform rigorous debugging and troubleshooting to resolve issues, working hand-in-hand with quality assurance teams to deliver reliable and robust code.
• Participate in strategic decision-making and help develop engineering infrastructure tools or platforms focused on improving overall development efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or relevant technical disciplines.
• Strong foundational knowledge in computer science and advanced proficiency with front-end technologies; solid experience with at least one framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Demonstrated experience contributing effectively to large scale projects.
• Knowledge of responsive design principles, cross-browser compatibility, performance optimization, and front-end engineering toolchains alongside established best practices in the industry.
• Excellent teamwork, problem solving, and attention to detail with a proactive and positive mindset.
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or AI-assisted IDE plugins, with the ability to integrate AI coding capabilities into real-world software engineering workflows.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with cross-platform frameworks such as React Native, Flutter, or desktop platforms.
• Full-stack development experience using Node.js based environments.
• Familiarity with interactive rendering technologies like Three.js or WebGL.
• Exposure to Low-code/No-code system development.
