Job description
Overview
The Fraud Prevention Agent plays a critical role as a frontline defense specialist, distinctly separate from general customer support functions. This position demands a proactive, investigative approach aimed at safeguarding the system while adhering strictly to regulatory guidelines and departmental service level agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth investigations into suspicious account activities by leveraging tools such as device fingerprinting, IP address scrutiny, and behavioral biometric analysis to detect social engineering tactics.
- Make decisive final judgments on high-risk funding and transactional operations by applying procedural knowledge and analytical insight to resolve intricate cases.
- Create detailed, evidence-quality case documentation that clearly explains the basis of each decision, ensuring comprehensive audit trails for compliance purposes.
- Efficiently manage high-volume triage queues prioritizing quality and accuracy to guarantee no high-risk alert is missed.
Qualifications
- At least one year of direct experience in Fraud Prevention, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), or Know Your Customer (KYC) roles within financial services or the payments sector is mandatory; customer support experience alone is insufficient.
- Competency in typing with recommended speed of 45+ words per minute coupled with high accuracy.
- Proven capability in analytical writing, able to transform complex datasets into clear, professional reports.
- A minimum educational qualification of a high school diploma; higher education or vocational credentials are advantageous.
Behavioral Traits
- Possess a healthy skepticism enabling the recognition of subtle irregularities beyond surface-level interactions.
- Exhibit meticulous attention to detail and low tolerance for errors, cognizant of the potential significant financial risks associated with mistakes.
- Thrive in environments where performance is assessed based on decision accuracy and quality instead of mere output quantity.
Operational Objectives
- Effectively balance stringent preventive measures against fraudsters while maintaining a smooth and trustworthy experience for legitimate users, mastering what is known as the "Fraud Paradox."
- Achievement measured by the capacity to prevent financial loss without undermining customer confidence in the platform.
