Job description

Position Overview

The Floor Technician is responsible for performing comprehensive cleaning and maintenance of the facility's floors, ensuring the environment remains clean and appealing while adhering to relevant laws, regulations, and Life Care Center policies.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare settings is desirable but not mandatory.

Role-specific Expectations

  • Make independent, informed decisions when necessary.
  • Possess understanding of operational practices, procedures, and regulatory compliance applicable in post-acute care facilities.
  • Effectively implement and interpret departmental goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all required competencies including patient rights, safety protocols, and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain professional relationships with coworkers, vendors, and others involved.
  • Protect confidentiality of sensitive information and proprietary data.
  • Comply with organizational policies including harassment prevention and regulatory compliance.
  • Exemplify integrity and professionalism by following the Life Care Code of Conduct and completing required compliance training.

Key Duties

  • Perform floor maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, shampooing, stripping, waxing, and buffing.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service with positivity toward patients.
  • Provide assistance during patient evacuation procedures.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Apply reasoning, concentration, and sound judgment during work activities.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate within interdisciplinary teams.
  • Physically capable of sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and intermittent movement throughout shifts.
  • Possess abilities to read, write, speak, and understand English.
