Floor Care Associate

Job Overview

This role involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation by ensuring all floor areas and restrooms are properly cared for. Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain an orderly and hazard-free environment in sales floors, liquor store, offices, breakrooms, backrooms, training rooms, and restrooms (about 70% focus on restrooms).
• Operate floor care equipment and related tools and chemicals efficiently.
• Sweep or vacuum mats and rugs, returning them to their designated locations, and remove carpet spots.
• Dispose of waste properly and conduct deep cleaning of restrooms.
• Create a welcoming atmosphere for customers to foster confidence and loyalty by ensuring cleanliness and assisting customers with product locations or suggestions.
• Maintain company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation, and productivity.
• Follow regulatory requirements related to food safety, USDA, COOL, and DOA.
• Execute product recalls swiftly, securing and removing affected items from customer reach.
• Support safety initiatives by adhering to procedures, inspecting for hazards, reporting unsafe conditions to management, and notifying about accidents or illegal activities.
• Ensure compliance with wage and hour rules, promote workplace safety culture, and ensure all employees receive necessary safety training.
• Ensure hazard assessments are available, and personal protective equipment is used correctly.
• Check equipment condition and assist with hazard remediation, including lockout/tagout processes.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred educational background.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required or must be obtainable.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
• Strong customer service aptitude and outstanding interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills are essential.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• This role requires frequent standing, walking on various floor types, and repetitive use of hands and feet.
• Occasional actions include sitting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing up to 30 feet.
• The position requires carrying, pushing, or lifting loads up to 50 pounds, with pulling requirements up to 250 pounds.
• Work conditions may include indoor/outdoor environments with exposure to cold, heat, humidity, and wet conditions.
• Exposure to safety risks such as slippery floors, hazardous equipment, sharp objects, loud noises, irritants, dust, fumes, cleaning agents, and toxins may occur.
• Equipment used includes cleaning supplies, office equipment, registers, pricing guns, scales, scanners, racks, carts, pallet jacks, and shopping carts.
• Preferred equipment includes baler/compactor and box cutters.
• Personal protective equipment such as goggles, gloves, and back braces must be worn as required.

Additional Information

• This role typically involves varied shifts.
• There is occasional travel but no overnight stays.
