Opportunity Overview
We are presenting two openings for Fleet Controllers at a respected Transport and Logistics company located in Chullora, NSW. Positions available include:
- One AM shift running from 6:00am to 4:00pm
- One PM/Night shift running from 6:00pm to 4:00am
Preference is given to experienced Fleet Controllers; however, candidates with relevant backgrounds such as drivers, transport coordinators, allocators, or container operations staff will also be considered and provided training especially for the night shift role.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the daily movements of fleet vehicles and containers
- Assign jobs and oversee driver schedules efficiently
- Manage import and export container logistics
- Maintain regular communication with drivers, customers, and depot teams
- Oversee collections and deliveries during shifts
- Respond quickly to delays and operational changes
- Keep transport systems updated and records accurate
- Ensure all safety compliance and Chain of Responsibility standards are met
Candidate Profile
While prior experience in Fleet Control is advantageous, candidates with transferable skills from transport and logistics roles are encouraged to apply. Essential attributes include:
- Background in transport, logistics, or fleet operations
- Container or wharf cartage knowledge highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving and communication capabilities
- Confidence interacting with drivers and clients
- Familiarity with Sydney's transport infrastructure
- Competent with computer applications and quick to adapt to new systems
- Ability to prioritize and stay organized in a dynamic setting
- A dependable mindset with eagerness to learn
