Job description
Context and Environment
We are looking for a talented and driven Financial Analyst to join our Finance team responsible for asset support. The role focuses on delivering precise and timely financial reports, assisting strategic decisions, and interacting with various stakeholders regionally and at headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports ensuring adherence to company policies and legal standards.
- Perform variance analysis, explain budget and forecast deviations, and display key performance indicators to management and asset teams.
- Create tailored reports and presentations on demand for management and asset managers.
- Lead coordination and consolidation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts working with internal teams.
- Support scenario planning and sensitivity analyses to aid strategic decision making.
- Draft and communicate budget and forecast materials for management reviews and partner engagements.
- Ensure accounting processes and financial documents align with IFRS, SOX, and local regulations.
- Act as the authority for compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and documentation best practices.
- Ensure the accuracy of consolidated financial statements.
- Organize all phases of internal and external audits, guaranteeing timely submission of documents and responses.
- Liaise directly with auditors to clarify audit inquiries and bolster compliance and transparency.
- Implement audit recommendations to enhance financial controls and risk mitigation.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, regional headquarters, and external partners to enhance financial procedures and align with strategic goals.
- Participate in finance committees and prepare materials for partner meetings to support well-informed decisions.
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships to enhance operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Manage and oversee monthly tax payments and annual tax declarations ensuring compliance with national and international laws.
- Supervise social declarations and related compliance following regulatory updates.
- Identify and execute process improvement opportunities to boost reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support company-wide initiatives and process optimization.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to support management’s strategic planning including scenario modeling and impact evaluation.
- Provide insightful, actionable recommendations to guide business planning and resource distribution.
Candidates Profile
- Master’s degree required.
- At least 5 years of experience in Reporting, Accounting, or Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).
- High proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with Galaxy, Galyz Shuttle, and SmartView software.
- Deep knowledge of IFRS, SOX regulations, corporate finance, and Exploration & Production (E&P) accounting.
- Strong analytical abilities coupled with excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
- Fluent English is mandatory; knowledge of French is considered an advantage.
