Financial Accounting Manager - EMEA

About the Role and Team

The EMEA accounting and reporting division manages the general ledger accounting and supervises the month-end closing for all subsidiaries across Europe, Middle East, and Africa. This team undertakes various accounting projects, provides technical guidance, and ensures adherence to statutory requirements including preparation of financial statements and engagement with external auditors.

We are currently looking for a Finance Manager to support the operational finance demands across multiple Middle East and African (MEA) entities. This role requires close cooperation with regional finance teams to oversee the entire accounting cycle, prepare for audits, and support month-end closing processes to maintain compliance in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complete accounting and financial reporting activities for MEA legal entities.
• Manage and coordinate external audit processes, including audit query resolution through preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Supervise payroll accounting and optimize related processes by reconciling payroll records with the general ledger and bank payments.
• Administer fixed assets, bank reconciliations, and conduct detailed monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts.
• Ensure timely execution of group and local month-end closing activities aligned with the financial calendar for MEA entities.
• Perform detailed variance analysis, assess business risks, and collaborate on tax reviews with local tax teams.
• Maintain all account balances in a complete and accurate state to meet an audit-ready standard before closure.
• Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and technical accounting documentation for interim and year-end audits.
• Partner cross-functionally with teams such as tax, payroll, legal, transfer pricing, and finance business partners to resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.
• Work closely with regional finance leadership to ensure compliance with regional standards and oversight.
• Liaise with HR, Payroll, and Tax teams to ensure accurate tax-related reconciliations per entity requirements.
• Coordinate with external bookkeeping vendors for local GAAP statutory account preparations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Full professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA with over five years of post-qualification experience.
• Proven capability managing end-to-end general ledger accounting and statutory reporting independently for Middle East and African entities.
• Solid understanding of regional tax regimes including VAT, Withholding Tax, and Corporate Income Tax across GCC countries.
• Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel for financial data analysis.
• Effective and clear communication skills for engaging with regulatory and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Preferably experienced with major ERP financial systems such as Oracle, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), and SAP.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-growth environment.
• Experience with auditing—both external and in-house—and exposure to e-commerce, fintech, payments, or other regulated sectors is highly desirable.
• Current working knowledge of IFRS standards and their application in financial reporting.
