Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a Finance Supervisor specializing in cash operations to join our finance team based in Doha. You will oversee and support cashier personnel daily, ensuring smooth functioning of cash management activities, completion of daily reports, and adequate staffing.
Key Responsibilities
- Guarantee that cashiers balance their registers accurately at day’s end, produce correct reports to confirm proper processing, prepare deposits, and reconcile credit card transaction stages.
- Manage accurate collection and bank lodgement of cash sales proceeds owed to the company.
- Supervise and monitor inventory of items such as EBT devices, porterage tags, cash bags, and seals to ensure proper accountability at the airport.
- Keep cashier staff fully informed regarding changes in EBT fares, promotions, airline policies, interline agreements, charter flights, and company regulations to minimize liability.
- Handle cash and credit card receipts linked with servicing over 30 million passengers annually.
- Coordinate with Duty Managers regarding shortages and staff salary deductions.
- Provide full cashiering services to concessionaries as needed.
- Ensure soiled notes are properly accounted for, exchanged per finance standard operating procedures (SOP), and disposed of accordingly.
- Resolve outstanding issues passed down by the previous supervisor.
- Communicate about all unposted batches to duty managers.
- Oversee control, collection, and posting of manual sales.
- Manage smooth operations of rotating cash floats and conduct surprise cash counts.
- Verify that all documents leaving the department adhere to required standards.
- Oversee destruction of used gift vouchers.
- Record and reclaim staff variances.
- Prepare and reconcile balance sheet schedules promptly.
- Develop draft SOPs specifically for cashiering operations.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the Head of Department.
- Set departmental objectives aligned with business goals and regularly review and adjust plans, procedures, and practices.
- Supervise and guide employees’ daily activities, handle recruitment, training, development, and discipline to maintain high-quality service delivery.
- Train and mentor employees to prepare for succession planning.
- Pursue personal development and keep current with market trends and industry advancements.
- Assist in managing emergencies or major operational disruptions involving the company or subsidiaries, including special assistance programs.
- Provide training for Qatari staff for various roles to meet business needs.
Qualifications
- High School diploma, vocational qualification, diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 3 years relevant experience; OR
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Solid understanding of industry-standard practices.
- Experience in cashiering, cash handling, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiarity with reporting and ticketing procedures.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Capability to work in a shift-based, operational environment.
