Field Service Engineer - Centrifugal Compressor

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Field Service Engineer specializing in Centrifugal Compressors to join our dynamic Industrial and Energy Technology team. This team operates globally, supporting the energy sector with a wide range of rotating equipment and services aimed at enhancing engineering quality and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical guidance and assistance to clients and field technicians during maintenance of Baker Hughes-supplied Centrifugal Compressors.
• Manage the unloading, inspecting, and proper placement of compressors and major auxiliary components at installation sites.
• Conduct precise geometric and dimensional checks of foundations and auxiliary equipment positioning, including levelling and alignment.
• Execute maintenance tasks on various models of Nuovo Pignone Centrifugal Compressors (MCL, BCL, PCL, and SRL) directly at customer locations.
• Carry out both minor and major compressor inspections including assembly, disassembly, clearance adjustments, and assessments of component wear or damage such as couplings, bearings, seals, diaphragms, and volutes.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a BE/BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a 3-year full-time Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering combined with at least 8 years of industry experience.
• Experienced in working with rotating equipment, specifically vertical or horizontal centrifugal compressors, in field environments at customer facilities.
• Exhibits strong technical knowledge, customer orientation, effective communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in teams.
• Proven history of involvement in installation and maintenance activities related to centrifugal compressors on site.

Working Conditions and Flexibility

The position primarily requires onsite presence; however, once project assignments are completed, tasks such as report writing and mobilization preparation can be performed remotely from home to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
