Experienced Roto / Prep Artist

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Roto / Prep Artist who will remotely support our visual effects projects, handling rotoscoping, keying, and preparatory art to ensure seamless production quality. This role requires strong artistic and technical ability within visual effects pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Create precise mattes for intricate rotoscoping and keying shots.
• Perform detailed paint and cleanup tasks, such as eliminating rigs, wires, and extraneous elements from footage.
• Conduct motion tracking and provide assistance for matchmove operations integrated into the VFX workflow.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrated competence in rotoscoping and keying with an eye for accuracy in complex visuals.
• Experience in paint and cleanup work to remove unwanted artifacts effectively.
• Skilled in motion tracking and supporting matchmove processes within a production environment.
• Strong foundation in art principles and computer graphics, including knowledge of composition, color theory, and narrative visualization.
• Familiarity with top-tier VFX and compositing software packages such as Nuke, Adobe After Effects, Mocha, Silhouette, or equivalents.
• High attention to detail coupled with effective time management to meet production timelines.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with a diverse team in a professional setting.
• Formal education or relevant training in visual effects, animation, or similar disciplines; prior experience in studio or production contexts is advantageous.
