About the Role

A leading Tier 1 construction company based in County Dublin is seeking an experienced Estimator to enhance their estimating team. This full-time permanent position offers a chance to contribute to successful delivery of high-value projects across multiple sectors including Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Technology, Commercial, Residential, and Office Fit-Out.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile precise, detailed, and commercially competitive tender submissions guided by drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, and other tender documents.
• Oversee the entire tender lifecycle from initial inquiry through submission.
• Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes while ensuring competitive and compliant pricing through negotiation.
• Analyze tender documentation to detect commercial risks, opportunities, inconsistencies, and clarify queries.
• Develop comprehensive cost breakdowns and pricing strategies reflecting project scope and current market conditions.
• Coordinate closely with design, planning, procurement, and commercial departments to ensure strong tender proposals.
• Participate in site visits, pre-tender meetings, and post-tender discussions as necessary.
• Contribute to ongoing enhancement of estimating systems, processes, and procedures.
• Stay informed about market trends, construction costs, and contract developments.
• Facilitate smooth handover of successful projects to delivery and commercial teams.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of five years’ experience in estimating, quantity surveying, or related roles within construction.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a similar field.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, cost planning, and procurement.
• A proven track record in preparing tenders for construction projects.
• Advanced analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Capability to identify commercial risks and opportunities within tender materials.
• Excellent organisational abilities to handle multiple tenders and tight deadlines.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, plus experience with estimating or quantity surveying software.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
