Estimator

Overview

Turner Industries Group is seeking an Estimator to join the Estimating team at our Pipe Fabrication Facility located in Port Allen, Louisiana. This role centers on coordinating key estimating processes to support project proposals and bidding activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and manage proposal documentation, such as project specifications, drawings, and associated client information.
• Prepare detailed material and labor quantity take-offs derived from client drawings, specifications, and bills of quantity.
• Calculate pricing based on the developed take-offs and client-supplied data, and collaboratively create technical and commercial proposal content with QA/QC and contracts teams.
• Maintain ongoing communication with project and sales teams until project awards are finalized.
• Serve as the point of contact with the Contracts department regarding bid and award paperwork.
• Participate in internal and client kickoff meetings upon project award as needed.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by management.
• Uphold a clean and safe working environment at all times.

Qualifications and Expectations

• Preferably possess 2 or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and technical abilities vital for project execution based on preliminary information.
• Exhibit excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Be highly detail-oriented and capable of working independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Post-offer drug and alcohol screening is mandatory.
• Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hearing protection, safety glasses, long-sleeve shirt, gloves, and steel-toe boots while in shop or yard areas.

Physical and Mental Demands

The role requires physical activities including reaching in multiple directions, handling objects, standing, walking, and sitting. Mental tasks include following detailed procedures and standards, applying fundamental math, visualizing and interpreting dimensional drawings, following oral and written instructions, and recognizing workplace hazards.
