Job description
Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Estimator to oversee the entire pre-construction phase, starting from the issuance of tender documents to the award of the tender. This position demands comprehensive knowledge of the tender lifecycle and proactive collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
- Carefully review tender documents and organize launch meetings to share preliminary tender insights.
- Summarize tender return requirements and coordinate with the design team and client as needed.
- Create all bills of quantities using Conquest software and liaise with the supply chain to distribute compliant enquiries.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate constraints and logistics; prepare for and attend mid-tender meetings to update tender progress.
- Work closely with the Contracts Manager regarding project scheduling, technical design, and logistics planning.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Manager on sourcing materials and assist the HS&E Director with health and safety aspects.
- Compile a detailed, compliant tender for review and ensure submission of all required documentation.
- During handover, present the estimate and supporting documents to the Build Team; address any clarifications.
- Provide prompt responses to queries from the build team and external parties throughout pre-construction, construction, and defects periods.
- Support business development by promoting the organization to clients and consultants and coordinate with the Conquest software team.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated experience as an Estimator in the construction sector or relevant area.
- Thorough knowledge of tendering procedures and pre-construction oversight.
- Proficiency with Conquest software or equivalent tools for bills of quantities preparation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Capability to multitask efficiently and adhere to deadlines.
Benefits and Work Conditions
- Competitive annual salary between £55,000 and £65,000, dependent on experience.
- Workweek totals 39 hours: Monday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and Friday until 3:30 pm.
- 21 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
