About the Role

We are representing a Tier 1 contractor based in Southampton seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This industry-leading company delivers high-profile public and private sector infrastructure projects throughout the South and is committed to innovation and employee wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare tenders from first principles ensuring precision and competitive pricing.
  • Lead bid coordination by collaborating with procurement, engineering, and commercial teams.
  • Engage and foster strong relationships with subcontractors to secure optimal market rates and innovative solutions.
  • Identify and manage project risks while exploring value engineering opportunities.
  • Provide thorough tender handovers to project delivery teams facilitating smooth transitions from tender award to construction.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven track record as an Estimator within a main contracting environment (Tier 1 or Tier 2).
  • Strong expertise in first-principles estimating and comprehensive knowledge of modern construction methods and health and safety standards.
  • Degree preferred (Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline) or HND/HNC equivalent.
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as Conquest or Causeway.
