Role Summary

As an Estimator, you will be tasked with delivering precise, compliant, and commercially sound tender proposals from initial stages through contract award. Collaborating closely with operations, commercial, and project delivery teams, you will identify risks, uncover opportunities, and propose value engineering strategies that fulfill client needs in harmony with environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive estimates, budgets, and tender documentation for various projects.
• Carry out accurate quantity take-offs and keep abreast of up-to-date market pricing.
• Analyze project risks, forecast cash flows, and assess commercial viability.
• Design innovative, sustainable, and cost-efficient bid solutions.
• Manage tender-related inquiries and assist during negotiation stages.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate risks, constraints, and prospects.
• Establish strong partnerships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Support procurement processes for subcontractor and supply chain engagements.
• Incorporate health, safety, environmental, and legal requirements in submissions.
• Compile thorough handover information for project teams post-contract award.
• Work knowledgeably with NEC and JCT contract forms, understanding their commercial implications.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in estimating within civil engineering, preferably at a main contractor or specialist civil engineering firm.
• Capability to produce high-quality written materials, including submissions and method statements.
• Outstanding communication skills and effective stakeholder management.
• Strong commercial insight combined with analytical skills.
• Adaptability to manage multiple tenders and shifting priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
• Possession of a full UK driving licence.
